NOVEMBER SURF IN THE OLDEST CITY

After a really fun October we have been lucky enough to start November out with a couple of fun swells to keep things going. Below is a collection of images that features some of St. Augustine's best surfers.

Seth Conboy with open skies Monday afternoon. Just before I met up with Seth this afternoon to shoot we were talking about trying to nail something a little more pulled back. Half way through the session a storm rolled in and caused the sky to have a mix of so many colors. During this time Seth managed to snag this right hand close out.

Always good to shoot with Chris while he is in town.

Jhayce Manucy about to get tubed. I love the look on his face. Along with the fact of where he is looking.

Andrew Fletcher backdooring a mini slab. This angle is so hard to shoot. I have been trying it for quite some time and this is my closes attempt. Ready to give it another try on some bigger stuff. I body surfed into the wave behind him on this one to get this angle.

Every once in a while I would catch my self daydreaming and get smacked in the head by one of these.

Shooting photos in the ocean is such a rewarding yet tough task. There are so many elements that go into taking a good photograph in ocean. My goal as a ocean photographer weather it be an athlete on some type of board or an empty wave or ocean is to give the viewer the sense that they were actually there in that actual moment that I experienced.   This photo for me really gives a view of what I see often times while out shooting surfers in the ocean.

This is one of my favorites from the entire week. Jared Jeffs inside of the greenroom. This was the last shot of the sequence before I disappeared through the wave. I just had this image sent off for print. Soon will be on a 20x30 metal.
